| Getting there |
Regional Express Airlines (REX) flies directly from Sydney and Melbourne to Merimbula more than five times each day.
The drive from Sydney via the Hume Highway (inland route) takes approximately five to five and a half hours. This route enjoys dual freeway from Sydney to Canberra and then wide, quiet, high-quality highway from Canberra to Merimbula via Cooma and Bega. The drive is also very scenic passing through snowgums, temperate rainforest and thick eucalyptus forest.
An alternate route is via the Princes Highway (coastal route), which takes approximately six hours and is approximately 450 kilometres. This drive is better if you intend on taking many stops and exploring all the coastal towns and villages between Sydney and Merimbula.
From Melbourne the drive to Merimbula takes approximately six to seven hours. |
