Best to travel by car as public transport will not go past Monreale.
By Vehicle; the quickest way from Melbourne International Airport is to drive along city link (which is a tollway and the toll for a one way trip for the distance that you will travel is $6.42. You phone 132629 and can pay the toll on your credit card (up to 24 hours after your trip) Into Melbourne stay on city link as it crosses Bolte Bridge and take the sign “South Eastern Suburbs”. Then proceed through the Burnley Tunnel and continue on the Monash Freeway (South Eastern Freeway) and get off at the Ferntree Gully Road Exit. Follow that until you reach the intersection of Burwood Highway. Turn right into Burwood Highway and just after a railway underpass you turn left onto MT Dandenong Tourist Road (signs indicates Olinda)
On top of the Mountain you will find a T intersection “{The Crescent”) turn right and drive down the hill 3kms and you will see the Monreale welcome sign.

If travelling via Eastern Freeway, follow toll road and get off at Burwood Highway and follow directions as above.

Cottages at Monreale is perfectly located between the villages of Sassafras and Olinda which have a large variety of galleries, tearooms. bric-a-brac, cafes and over ten quality restaurants. Within minutes you will find the renowned Alfred Nicholas Gardens Just 5 minutes from famous Puffing Billy Railway, ten minutes from William Ricketts Sanctuary, the National Rhododendron Gardens and Cloudhill Gardens. In addition the adjacent National Parks offer a myriad of nature walks including the 1000 steps.
Yarra Valley Wine region is a 30 minute car drive away.
