ALSTONVILLE COUNTRY COTTAGES

Relax and enjoy the unique experience of staying on a rural property with panoramic views down the valley to the ocean, only 2 minutes from the historic village of Alstonville and only 10 minutes to the beaches at Ballina. Situated ideally for visiting the hinterland, Lismore, Bangalow and the Border Ranges or a quick drive to the beaches that stretch from Evans Head via Lennox Head to Byron Bay.

Immediately, when you come down the driveway, you will have a sense of space and tranquillity as the view spreads out in front of you. This is your own escape from the pressures of life.

The spacious one-bedroom and two-bedroom cottages are situated on terraces full of native plants and flowers and fruit trees. Suitable for couples or families. They are fully self-contained with large private verandahs with personal bbqs and extensive views of the rainforest, pasture and the Pacific Ocean. Sit and watch the horses and cows graze, listen to the birds sing or watch the wedge-tailed eagles glide on the currents over the valley. And at dusk you might see wallabies silently grazing closeby. We are pet friendly too!

At the Barn/ reception area there is a large 12m saltwater swimming pool with shade sails and chairs for relaxing. There is also a large covered communal bbq/entertainment area with a table, chairs, bbq and a wood-fired pizza oven for you to use. Closeby, there is also an open firepit to sit around at night and tell stories. Ideal for family or business groups. There is a communal laundry with books and games for you to borrow. We also have various farm animals that can be fed and children (or adults) are welcome to collect fresh eggs daily.

Our new function room is now open and complements the eight cottages. Alstonville Country Cottages is conveniently located only 15 minutes from Ballina-Byron Airport, 1hr from the Gold Coast and 2 hours from Brisbane. There is also 30 acres of heritage rainforest to walk through and explore- the home of the endangered Richmond Birdwing Butterfly as well as many native birds such as the catbird and bush turkey. You can follow the track down to the hidden valley of Duck Creek and see the bush regeneration work that is in progress, study the huge staghorns in such trees as the Cedar, Giant fig, Blue Quandong and many other native species. Let your pet enjoy swimming in the creek or at the nearby pet friendly beaches.

Directions:
If you are coming from the north you can turn off the Pacific Highway before reaching Ballina, onto Tintenbar Rd.Turn off the highway to Lennox on the left and follow the signs to Tintenbar. Then onto Alstonville and at the junction of the Bruxner Highway and Teven Rd. turn left towards Ballina. Alstonville Cemetery Rd turnoff is on the right hand side, just before the 100km sign.

OR keep on the Pacific Highway and drive south through Ballina and then turn up the Bruxner Highway on your right, signposted to Lismore and Alstonville. Alstonville Cemetery Rd turnoff is on the left 5km up the Bruxner Highway, just before the 60km sign.

If you are coming from the south, turn left onto the Bruxner Highway, signposted to Lismore and Alstonville, just on the southern side of Ballina. Alstonville Cemetery Rd is on the left, 5km up the Bruxner Highway, just before the 60km signpost.
