Alpine Gables is in the heart of Jindabyne, overlooking the shores of Lake Jindabyne and only 30 minutes to both major ski resorts.

We have 41 self contained units, all of which are loft style ranging from two to six share.

All units have kitchenette facilities including fridge, toaster, microwave and electric frypan. Rooms also have a dining area and lounge as well as TV with Austar channels and complimentary in-house movies. All of our cosy suites are split level, most with a private balcony or courtyard providing magnificent lake to mountain views. Other units have a pleasant, leafy outlook over the town.
The motel also has its own restaurant "The Brumby Bar and Bistro" for dining and bar refreshments. Brumby Bar is known to all locals as a family friendly restaurant where you can enjoy a good hearty Australian meal.

By Road

Driving from Sydney

Follow the Hume Highway from Sydney then, just south of Goulburn, take the Federal Highway and travel south to Canberra. This section of the trip is on a mainly divided road. At Canberra follow the signs to the Monaro Highway to Cooma. The road then joins the Kosciuszko Road that you follow through the town of Berridale and onto Jindabyne. Just past Jindabyne Town Centre, take a left onto the Alpine Way to Thredbo or continue straight ahead to Perisher Valley.

Driving from Melbourne

Follow the Hume Highway from Melbourne to Wodonga. Take the Murray Valley Highway "To Wodonga / Tallangatta" exit and follow the signs "To Tallangatta". After passing Wodonga follow the signs to Tallangatta again on the Murray Valley Highway. You pass through the village of Koetong onto Corryong. Drive through Corryong and take the "Khancoban" turn off on your right. Once in Khancoban you are only 76km from Thredbo. For Perisher Valley and Jindabyne continue past Thredbo until you reach a T junction approximately 30km from Thredbo. Turn left for Perisher Valley and right for Jindabyne. From here the drive to Perisher is truly spectacular as you take in awesome views of the Main Range and discover the beauty of the Kosciuszko National Park. The roads are clear for most of the year but when a big snow fall hits, chains may be required for some 2-wheel drive vehicles.

This is the closest town to Kosciuszko National Park, a paradise of rugged adventures, and half the shops in town are dedicated to skiing, snowboarding, fishing, bush walking, mountain biking and camping.

Whether you are visiting the Snowy Mountains and Jindabyne in summer or winter you will find a wide range of activities and things to do and see. So come on up and breathe the mountain air, climb Mt Kosciusko, ride a horse Man from Snowy River style, catch a trout, water ski, stroll around Lake Jindabyne or just relax with a good book.
