Naughty adult supply mob AdultShop.com is taking a swipe at the country's regulators. The group claims it has out of touch classifications when it comes to adult products.
Malcolm Day, the Managing Director of AdultShop.com has taken the Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC), which classifies films and games, to court seeking a judicial review of the classification of the film “Viva Erotica” as an X18-plus.
“There is a growing bank of evidence that the OFLC are out of touch with current community standards,'' he said.
“Regularly stories are published that report on the failings of the OFLC to classify films and games in a way that the community at large agrees with" he said.
"The Classification Act requires the OFLC to apply current community standards when making classification decisions. In a country where we as adults have a right to see, hear and read what we want, the OFLC's classification decisions are out of step with the views of the majority of Australian adults" he said.
