The country's premier tourism awards have been handed out with SydneyHarbour's famous Bridgeclimb and Adelaide's Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar race taking out top honours.
Canberaa's science and technology centre Questacon was also highly rates while in Queensland, a backpackers resort along with a railway museum topped the list.

Only seven of the 25 awards handed out at the ceremony went to Queensland and the Gold Coast has been particularly critical of the lack of recognition in this year's awards.

Gold Coast tourism officials described it as a bitter snub considering the coast was spending about $10 million a year trying to attract tourists and boasted attractions such as Q1, Movie World, Wet 'N Wild and Dreamworld.
