DRALION by CIRQUE DU SOLEIL to opens in Brisbane through to January
The four powerfully inspiring characters from Dralion by Cirque du Soleil - Azala, Gaya, Oceane and Yao – together with 65 artists from 14 countries including a house troupe of 36 Chinese performers, has opened in Brisbane.
Dralion stars one Australian artist – Brisbane’s Hayden Spencer – as a clown. It will be his premiere Cirque du Soleil performance in Brisbane, having joined the international famous troupe only six weeks ago!
Located under the trademark blue and yellow Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) at it’s new location on McArthur Avenue, off Remora Road, in Hamilton, the season of Dralion will for the first time in the 10 year history of Cirque du Soleil touring to Brisbane, take in the Christmas and New Year period.
Created and directed by Guy Caron, Dralion has been touring the world since April 1999. The show is a fusion of ancient Chinese circus traditions and the avant-garde approach of Cirque du Soleil. The name Dralion is drawn from its two main symbols—the dragon, representing the East, and the lion, representing the West.
Dralion will take audiences on an extraordinary journey through its inspirational, mythical and unforgettable world. The creators of the show drew much of their ideas from mankind’s quest for harmony with nature and made Dralion a tribute to the four elements: air, water, fire and earth. This amazing production will define new heights of acrobatic creativity, culminating in unique and exciting acts that have never been seen before in Australia.
