We have national Clean up Australia Day, Anzac Day, Christmas Day so why not... Kill a Toad Day.
A Queensland national party MP Shane Knuth wants to hold what he is calling “Toad Day out”, a day dedicated to exterminating the Sunshine State of public enemy number one, the cane toad.
Under his plans, millions of Queenslanders would be asked to go out and kill the beasts. The Charters Towers MP said Queenslanders needed a special day out and children would also embrace the kill a toad day.
He said the toad was probably the greatest environmental vermin and probably the most disgusting creature known to man with each female toad capable of producing up to 20,000 eggs and they breed faster than rabbits.
The RSPCA said it would endorse the big day out as long as the toads were killed humanely... namely being placed in their fridge before euthanizing them in the freezer.
