Sydney will appear on the red strip alongside New York and London in the square traditionally held by The Strand in the first international version of Monopoly set for release on 26 August.

More than five million votes were recorded in a worldwide poll conducted earlier this year to determine the 22 cities that would appear in Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition.

Due for release in 37 languages this is an opportunity to promote Australia and its Harbour city to the world.

This edition features some changes to the traditional Monopoly including houses and hotels reflecting styles and icons from around the world, a new currency and a mobile phone version.
