Tasmanian Living Writers’ Week

From Bruny Island to Bridport, from Deloraine to Devonport, books, authors and all things literary are back on the menu with the return of the second biennial Tasmanian Living Writers’ Week from 15 to 24 August.
Book lovers of all genres will find something appetising in this year’s celebration of the written word with 110 free and ticketed events to be held in 42 locations around the state. Tasmanian Living Writers’ Week combines the many facets of literature to create a 10 day feast of words featuring lively literary lunches, author readings and book signings, a series of inspirational and educational panel discussions, a showcase of indigenous authors and the return of the monumental Tasmanian Book Fair to the gorgeous IXL Atrium on Hobart’s waterfront.
In 2008, Tasmanian Living Writers’ Week offers the unique opportunity to be challenged, entertained, stimulated and inspired in some of the states loveliest places, by an abundance of leading Australian authors including Les Murray, Morris Gleitzman, Tim Bowden, Julian Burnside, David Everett, Kathryn Fox, Anita Heiss, Peter Temple, Julia Leigh, Katherine Scholes, Kathryn Lomer and Peter Thompson.
